Rachel & Lindsay
The Gin Lounge was created over a drink one night when married couple Rachel and Lindsay had a vision for something traditional, different, quirky and fun, where the staff entice you, the music takes you back down memory lane, and the drinks taste amazing. This town needed something different aimed at like minded adults -
no under 25’s who won't dance to the 80s (!)
From that conversation, the idea was born
Lindsay and Rachel put their all into renovating the building at Brook Street and six months later The Gin Lounge became reality.
With a derelict space above, two hotel rooms were created, and it wasn't long before we became the best bar to be in and our hotel rooms number one.
The Era of flat caps and braces was embraced with The Gin Lounge Ladies donning traditional attire behind the bar and, thanks to our quirky style, unbeatable music playlist and friendly team, our bar quickly became renowned for its opulent atmosphere.
The Gin Lounge stayed at Brook Street for five years, surviving lockdown twice and coming back stronger than ever.
Fast forward 5 years and here we go again!
Cowpasture Road - 1 year in the making, 2 nervous breakdowns, 1 broken ankle, and a lot of blood, sweat and tears but by bit, piece by piece, brick by brick, we hammered, we knocked down, we built and we painted.
So here we are today
six more boutique rooms and a larger bar, recreating what we did before, but with new ideas and even more Edwardian Grandeur.
